Pure Peruvian Maca Extract (root) 700mg

Maca is a root vegetable native to the Peruvian Andes. These radish-like vegetables are related to potatoes and are grown at an altitude of 7,000 to 11,000 feet, thus making them the highest altitude growing plant in the world. The native people of Peru have been using the Maca root for its’ natural healing properties since approximately 3800 B.C. In 1549, Maca root was given as a gift to a Spanish explorer for his help with improving animal husbandry in the area. By 1572, the benefits of Maca root had become so well known that the native people would use it as barter. In 1843, scientists started to do research on Maca root and it was then given a botanical name: Lepidium meyenii.
